transferring question

if a school like pepperdine, usc, and tulane say that they dont evaluate you on your highschool work once you have 30+ college credit hours, then why do they require you to submit your hs transcript?

to verify that you graduated

well they would have to see our high school grades when they receive our transcript? it is hard for me to believe that they dont look at that and evaluate you on that at all...

you dont know if the admissions person evaluating you is the one looking at your hs transcript. they may have a secretary/assistant looking at the transcripts and then checking something off to verify that yes, you did graduate from high school. then the only thing that an admissions person would see is that you graduated.

you really dont think that they take into account your grades whatsoever? i mean its really hard to believe that they wouldnt see it you know?

yes, they're lying to you and every other transfer...

its to show that you completed enough credits in high school and you graduated...stop worrying, they can't straight up lie to your face, so just trust them, or dont apply

well it is just hard to believe that they receive the transcript but dont look at it at all, i dont understand why some schools require it then and some dont?

basically they look at your scores, but it's not taken into account as much or at all.

it just seems like it would affect their decision because if someone had terrible hs (me) and then did well in college (me) they wouldnt just think hmm hes a great student, theyd say well for 1 year at a cc he worked hard so i dont think hes really earned it or deserving of it, because this other student has worked hard through all hs and college

or it could be like hmmm this guy had a low hs score but had a great college grade, looks like upward trend!

it just seems like it would be more negative than positive, and that they really are looking at your hs grades when they say that they are not...

look, you shouldn't be paranoid about that. If you have enough credits to where they say they won't look at it, they probably won't, and if so, it honestly won't be much.

alright man ill give it a shot i guess...is a 3.6 pretty solid for a cc?

Where are you applying? It's pretty solid but it depends on where you want to go.

well out of thre schools that require hs transcripts, tulane and pepperdine

bump.......

for tulane you should be competitive.

however, i've heard stories about pepperdine being very difficult to transfer into.
i forget who it was, someone last year got rejected with a 4.0 from a four year college, but i dont know what the rest of his app was like.

i dont know if that had something to do with lack of space... for instance I was accepted to emory and north carolina as a transfer but got rejected from colby (lack of space, so they said...)

well it looks like pepperdine is desperate for applicants because they extended their deadline... 104/520 or so accepted as transfers to pepperdine

to the top...
