So currently first semester of my senior year is about to end and I already applied and got in to my state college. Colorado state. I really feel miserable at my school and really want to transfer high school for second semester. I am not socially awkward so I will have no problems making new friends, my only concern is will it affect my college acceptance letter. I’m already got in so I have no idea how it might affect it. Any insight would help. I really want to transfer
Without a doubt, I would stay put for your last semester. It is a risk not just socially but academically as well. Understand that if you end up with any D’s or F’s that could be ground for recision.
If you are determined to transfer then call the college and be sure the transfer won’t impact your acceptance. Know what courses you will take if you do transfer before you make the call.
Is there even any school that would let you attend second semester senior year for no real reason? Public schools maybe but still doesn’t sound likely.
You would also need to investigate if the school you transfer to:
- would give you a diploma if you only attend one semester – not having a HS diploma could cause a problem and/or
- has any requirements that you have not fulfilled at your current school which could lead you to not graduate.
Again, this idea is fraught with potential problems and pitfalls. I’d stay put knowing the end is in sight.
Ok thanks thanks for all your input, I think I’ll listen to you and just stay .
