Transferring Stats

Hey guys I have put Penn State on my short list of schools that I want to apply for after a year at a CC. I wanted to know about any stories of others that transfered, and what kind of grades would I need to get to get me in, how many semesters do I have to do to not have them look at my high school record?. Also I will most likely need a good amount of help paying, so how generous is Penn State with aid.

I can tell you the aid isn’t great.

If you want to go to University Park, you need to have finished two years of college in order to transfer. For one of the branch campuses, you only need to have completed one full-time semester.

You can get more info here:

And yes, the aid isn’t great.

the page linked above states that you need two years of college credit to transfer to University Park. Where did you read that students at branch campuses need only one semester? I don’t think that’s true. From everything I’ve read, the 2+2 program gives you ability to transfer to UP for the junior and senior years.

^What she was saying was that you only need one semester to transfer INTO the branch campus but you need 2 full years to transfer into UP.

yes, sorry, that’s what I meant. If you just want to transfer into Penn State and aren’t picky about the campus, the fastest way is to transfer into a branch campus, which you can do after you complete one semester elsewhere. Otherwise, if you’re really set on going to the U Park campus, you need to wait until you’ve finished two years of college.
