Transferring Summer Courses

Does anyone know if a BIO 100 level course (4 credits with Lab) taken at a community college would be accepted at ND? I heard from a parent that it has to be taken at a UNIVERSITY (not even a 4 year COLLEGE.) I am hoping that the community college will do, because of the price of tuition and closer to home. The other options 1) local 4 year COLLEGE at double the cost or the nearest UNIVERSITY with a 1 hour commute each way and still double the cost.
My daughter ( ND Junior next year) was trying to get these answers while on campus but with finals/move out and graduation she kept hitting roadblocks and never got a definite answer. Thoughts anyone?

I found the approval process online by doing a quick google search so hopefully this clarifies the ND policies/procedures. http://al.nd.edu/advising/academic-policies/transfer-credit/

And just so you know, many schools do not accept CC credits for summer work and most schools have a similar pre-approval process for summer courses.
