<p>I was looking over some stats from liberal arts schools and saw that schools with really low acceptance rates don't have high gpas. So what is it that these schools look for?</p>

<p>I don’t understand what you are saying. What colleges are you talking about, and what do you consider to be high GPAs? In my experience, highly rated LACs, which tend to have lower admit rates,look for high GPAs and test results, strong recommendations and for students to demonstrate genuine interest in the school. Smaller schools may have a more holistic approach to reviewing candidates, but if they can afford to be choosy, they prefer strong students as demonstrated by high GPAs</p>
