Transferring to a new HS Second Semester Senior Year?

Hi everyone

I'm currently experiencing some family problems that might force me to transfer to a different school next semester.
The new school will be equally competitive as my old school.
Assuming my courses stay the same at the new school, how much does this affect my chances at top colleges?
My mid-year report and stuff will still be handled by my old school.
The only thing my new school will be sending is the final transcript.
I am hoping this will not hinder my chances in any way...since all it really matters is grades up till 1st semester, right?

I really appreciate any input.
Thanks.

I can't imagine that it'd make any difference. After all, even if you do poorly at your next school, the transition and personal problems will soften the blow.

It is not going to matter except that if you are transferring to a school in a different state and are applying to your current state's public university, it could make a difference as to residency for in-state tuition.
