I recently have been looking into transferring schools, however, the school that I want to go to doesn't have my major. The problem is I would be transferring after I finish my junior year at my school. I am conflicted because #1 I want to go to this school more than anything and #2 I have all the classes I would need to get into the grad program (because you don't have to have an undergrad degree; just all the requirements) However, this school doesn't have my major! I have no idea what I degree I would be transferring to. I am a speech-language pathology major....so that's all the classes I've taken. Would I even be able to graduate in a year or year and a half? I'm so conflicted about this decision, I don't like my school and I don't want to go to one any others that are around that have my major (plus it's too late to transfer). Any advice?

Does Dream School admit students who have completed a full three years of college-level work already? If Dream School does, would you be able to transfer all of your credits and graduate in only one more year, or would you need to complete at least two full years there? If you have to be there for two full years, how will you pay for it?

Lots of questions here!

I’d suggest that you talk with your advisor about the possibility of arranging to do a “Guest Senior Year” at Dream School. This is less common than a Junior Year Abroad, but many colleges and universities allow it, especially if you have already completed most (if not all) of your major requirements by then. You would need to come up with a reasonable list of courses that you could take at Dream School during your guest year, and those credits would be transferred back to your current school, and you’d graduate from there on time.
