Transferring to a SUNY?

How easy/hard is it to transfer into a SUNY? Preferably Stony Brook or Binghamton? I'm a NYS resident, but went out of state for college, and now I want to come back.

What do they focus on/look for in transfer applicants?

What school do you go to now? If you have like a 3.0+ at your current school (be it a cc or state school) you got a good shot at either of those.

they're really easy. I got 'the letter' from binghamton before i was even able to send them any essay/resume/teacher recs. All they had was part I and a college transcript.

what if my gpa is lower than a 3.0?

you still got a good shot even if your gpa is below 3. I think with the Suny system, if you write a good essay, it can compensate for your grades. But I think you need to have at least a 2.0. I mean you have to at least pass. Where do you go to school now? I went to Stony Brook for a year though man, and I'm telling you that place isn't fun. Binghamton is a better option for everything except sciences. If you are looking for the sciences, Stony Brook is probably better. You can pm me if you have specific questions about Stony Brook.
