Hi everyone,

I am a CC student that is planning to apply to transfer out for Fall 2015. My #1 choice is UC Berkeley, which I just toured today and fell in love with. I am also going to tour/apply to UCLA and UCSB, and probably UC Merced as well.

First, I want to ask everyone if they have any other school suggestions for a Biological Anthropology Major? I was thinking about applying to UC Santa Cruz and UC San Diego as well, but know basically nothing about their bio anthro programs. I heard UCB and UCLA have great anthro departments....what about the other UC's?

Second, have any of you been admitted to Berkeley or UCLA? If so, what were your GPA's and overall applications like?

Third, my tour guide didn't really know anything about the UCB Anthro program....is anyone on here currently in it? Or have been in it?

Lastly, what do you think my chances are of getting into these schools? My GPA is pretty low...a 3.4...but my major GPA is close to a 4.0. I am a white female, first generation college student from California. I work part time in addition to school full time, and I have a full-time volunteer job as a Puppy Raiser for Guide Dogs For The Blind located in San Rafael, Ca...right by Berkeley! (Basically, I train service dogs for blind and visually impaired people. When I am done training them, I give them back to the Guide Dog school and they match them up with a blind person. I have done this for 4 years, and my entire time at my CC).

Any and all info/tips/advice would be greatly appreciated....I feel so lost in this process!

Thanks!
