Transferring to a UC from a CCC FAQ

@goodkidmaadcity

Sorry for the late reply! Getting used to the campus is really tough!

To simply answer your question, yes. Apply. Its better to try then to waste another year thinking to yourself that you have wasted another year. Just try it out and see how it goes.

Do ap credits count towards tag? I’m a freshman at CCC but I took a lot of ap’s in high school and passed them all. I would be eligible for tag if they count.

My questions: Do colleges see you as a trophy, as in if I apply to UCLA, UCSD will see this and get jealous (if my GPA and everything else is awesome) ? Does applying to many colleges of your choice give you a better chance of entering into your top choices?

Yo DK, you on TLS?

@Dannysan34, no. The UC’s aren’t competing against each other.

@asemaan : Yes it does, but you need to have those AP credits counted on your community college. One of my friend got royally F-ed because our college forgot to do that.

@Danny : Nooooope. Apply to much as you can. I didnt think I would get into UCSD, but hey, tried it out, waitlisted, and finally got in.

@Snorlaz : TLS…?

Top-law-schools.com

@Snorlaz : I was going to, but I figured that I’ve already debunked most things for law school.

MAX GPA ; 180 LSAT

TLS would be proud. You sure have my friend. Retake until you hit 170+ and that’s all you need to know. 180 would be optimal :)

@ refreshe: Borderline GPA’s will not cut it for UCSD TAG. I tagged for UCSD and at the time I had about the same GPA as you. By the deadline I had a 3.492 and was not accepted for TAG. So if you are absolutely sure you can get a 3.5 by the deadline, than go for it. If not, save your TAG for another school. Technically, I will never know whether I got into UCSD or not because I was offered a spot on the waitlist but decided not to write a second essay for it since I had already been accepted to LA. Good luck!
