Hello, I’m a sophomore out of state undergrad trying to transfer into ASU Spring ‘19 for their biomed sci program. My cumulative GPA at my college right now is a 2.61 (my college is UCI). However, I talked to a transfer advisor and he said that ASU will only be accepting some of my credits bring my gpa down to a whopping 2.1. This transfer advisor had told me that I wouldn’t be able to get into ASU, however I know some instances where people with low GPA’s like mine do get in. In high school I got a 4.2 GPA, but college (especially in quarter system) for my freshman year really screwed me over. I’m really nervous at the fact that I may not be able to transfer and I was really set on this because I thought my GPA as a 2.61 would work out. Will they consider the school I am transferring out of, or will they consider my high school GPA to make a choice? I’m pretty sad since I thought I would have a chance to get into ASU, but it seems like I can’t now. Any thoughts?
are you OOS for California or Arizona? Are you really paying OOS fees for UCI? If so, yikes.
If you are from Arizona, I’d suggest moving back home and attend an instate community college, boost that GPA, obtain instate transfer counseling, and then try to transfer from there. (Your obvious reason for transferring is high cost of UC.)
No I’m resident of California. I just checked today that actually my dues are paid for. But now I’m worried because I really want to transfer to ASU. Just wondering what my chances are to get in
