What is the best ccc to transfer to Berkeley for Physics?
I was looking at Berkeley City college but I am not sure if it has every class.
However if I went to Berkeley City, I would still get the city experience and could do TAP there to get a better chance of transferring.
Does anyone have a bad Berkeley City College experience they would like to tell?
One of the physics profs at BCC is good, the other is terribad or meh depending, but I don’t remember which is which, so check ratemyprofessor. BCC usually offers only one of the 4 series at a time, so scheduling is a problem. Similarly, the best physics prof in the Peralta system is Nicol at Laney, but like BCC he only teaches the 4 sequence in order, so if you try to take him off-schedule it won’t work for you. Tsai and Park at College of Alameda are good, but avoid Mohebi at Laney, he’s crap. Also, get internships if you can.
@effuueffeff would you say sbcc is better for physics?
Couldn’t tell you anything about it - the extent of my experience / hearsay is just about the Peralta system.
Oh, yeah, also: https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major You can look up how many lucky ducks made it from each CC for each major.
