transferring to Columbia

after doing some summer work at the college I will attend in the fall I came to the conclusion that I really don’t see myself spending four years here for various reasons. I plan on applying as a transfer to Columbia, Cornell, and NYU any advice on the transfer process(timelines stuff like that). any kind of advice will help!!!

This information can be found on the school’s websites. Google “name of college transfer admissions”

do you have any advice on what I should do during my first year to maximize my transfer acceptance

I transferred to Columbia as an entering sophomore last year. Get professor recommendations from your current institution that will make you stand out, have the best grades, and be active and involved where you are right now. It’s difficult, but you need to make the case that Columbia offers you opportunities that you currently don’t have

Take the hard class and do well in your current school, be nice to your professor and get the great rec letters, write impressive essays that shows a clear need of transfer (show that Columbia can offer you a lot that you currently don’t have and show them what you can add to their campus…)
I am also applying to Columbia transfer next fall, hope we can be classmates~

Thanks for the advice! hopefully we do become classmates
