Hi everyone, I am currently a senior in high school and will be attending Boston College in the Fall, however, I was considering applying to the Cornell summer program because Cornell had been my number one choice before I was rejected. I have read a few threads regarding whether or not the summer school actually helps students get admitted into Cornell and it seems kind of split because there are indeed a lot of variables to consider because of the differing students applying. So basically I am just curious about people's feedback on whether Cornell is worthwhile as a summer program that could possibly help me transfer next year, or perhaps there are some better programs out there such as UPenn's or others that I have not come across. I did attend Harvard Summer School last year for eight weeks because it seemed to be a great program and I since I live just outside of Boston, it made things easy. Although this thread might fit better into "Summer Programs," not many people actually post back, so I was hoping I could find some help here. Thank you!

It might be tough if you did not receive a rejection with a guaranteed transfer/transfer option from the college within Cornell that you applied to.

what program at cornell are you interested in taking?

i would definitely do it…if Boston College will accept the transfer credit…

I am interested in cognitive science, and i do not think BC is very strong in that area compared to Cornell. I am still on the fence on whether to go or not because it is such a big commitment time wise.

i dont know if any of the summer courses at cornell will be “very strong” in this area…

i would recommend that your first year at BC you take courses that you would have taken had you been a cog sci. major at cornell…
