Transferring to Davidson?

Hey all,
I just finished my first year at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, and have been considering transfering to a smaller liberal arts school.

I was attracted to Case by some of their academic programs and large financial aid package, but have since felt it was too technical of a school for me. (premeds and engineers).

At the same time, I realize Davidson is not easy school to get in, especially in the middle of sophmore year (I would apply for the spring semester). Many people complain about the workload, however Case has a reputation as a heavy work load school, which I can attest to, and at the same time this doesnt bother me.

I've got about a 3.2 at Case (they have no minuses/pluses in grading), and have a lot of work experience, average SAT scores (1340). I realize stats like these arent too favorable when applying to a top liberal arts school, but I'm curious if anyone has any advice and possible ideas on chances for me.

Thanks a ton,

It's possible, transfering is a crap shoot. It all depends on who else applies, put your best foot forward. All I can tell you is that there are a few spots to fill in the Sophmore class -- some won't be returning but thats not because they didn't love Davidson. Could you take the SAT again, it will have been 2.5 years old by the time Davidson accepts you if you took it in June of your Junior year. Of course, I'm thinking you might improve them. Below the 2200 level on the new test, you will need to bring something else to the table besides academics, your 3.2 at Case, and your SAT score are fine, they are just not homeruns. So yeah, I don't think you can improve your gpa before Davidson decides.. so work on your SAT. There is nothing immoral about taking an SAT prep book out of the library and working though it if you really want to transfer to a school like Davidson.
