Hey guys,

I am going to be a second year in the college of engineering, currently enrolled in the bioengineering program.

I am wondering if anyone knows the procedure/the difficulty of transferring into EECS. I have finished all of the math/physics undergraduate requirements (Math 1A-Math 54), Physics 7A, 7B and am enrolled in CS 61a so i dont think im too far behind.

Any information/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I’m an incoming BioE freshmen, and I too am interested in a possible transfer to EECS. I called ESS prior to choosing to Berkeley to confirm the logistics of a transfer. According to the lady I talked to and various members on this forum, a 3.2+ GPA and a schedule plan ensuring graduation within 4 years will most likely be enough to switch.

Hope that helped! =D

Go to 240 Bechtel ASAP and ask about it. Since you’re already in CoE, it shouldn’t be as difficult as switching from L&S or other colleges. The worst thing it can happen is writing an essay why you want to switch, but no more.

thanks for the info, much appreciated

off the top of my head, the major classes that my counselor told me were mandatory were EE40, EE20, CS61a, and CS61b. However, I can’t find any information online to back this up and have been asking on these forums but haven’t gotten any replies.
