Transferring to Engineering Major

I first applied and got accepted into the college of Letters and Sciences but now after researching more about UCSB I think I want to become a computer engineering major. The problem is they have to review your application further for that and I don't want them to deny me to the engineering college then not be able to go to UCSB at all, especially because my senior year grades aren't exactly the greatest.

What's the best course of action to take if I want to pursue computer engineering? Maybe I should be undeclared in Letter and Sciences for the first year then transfer? What would you guys recommend?

If you ask admissions to change your major, the worst they’d say is that they can’t accommodate you. They’re not going to rescind the initial offer just because you ask if it’s possible to switch majors (if you totally bomb your senior year, that’s another issue entirely).

As far as starting in engineering and switching after a year, a quick web search turns up this.

Wow thanks. It actually sounds pretty simple. Your post helped a lot.
