Transferring to FSU after a semester at USF?

Hi, so I just graduated High School and about to start college at USF in about a week, but I've been experiencing some crazy buyer's remorse recently and it's just killing me. I was accepted to both USF and FSU when I applied and stupidly picked USF because of my parents and like a 9k scholarship, but I just feel like I know I'm not going to like it. The campus is hideous and the atmosphere I experienced at orientation wasn't what I was hoping for. I was wondering if it would be easy to transfer to FSU during the spring? I read that it was, but I just wanted a clarification. My act is a 26 and my gpa when I graduated was like a 3.68? I kinda slacked off knowing that I was going to USF my last quarter of High School so I made 2 Ds in pre calc and ap stats. Thank you!!

I think those D’s are going to hurt your chance of transferring. It would have been enough for FSU to rescind your admission so USF may have been the wise choice.

Yeah you’re probably right, but one was a 69 which is kind of dumb, but it’s whatever I guess.

Were those just quarterly D grades or was that your semester grade?

Unless those Ds are on your transcripts for the semester, it may not be that big of a deal (especially if your semester grade is still a C or better). If they are on your transcript, then your chances of getting accepted as a lower division transfer are low.

They were semester! Crappppppp ):

I feel like I’ll like USF once I’m settled in, but I just don’t know right now. Thanks for your inputs though

First bit of advice - stop second-guessing your decision or it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy. Try USF for a year, and if you hate it after that, then consider transferring…this from a Florida Gator Alumni and FSU Father of a freshman daughter…

I got accepted to fsu,uf, and usf. I choose USF. And after almost 4 years im glad i did. I love tampa and the things to do around here. You’ll love USF! Nothing to worry about. Your freshmen year will be the best, so don’t go throughout the year sad about transferring you’ll regret it.
