Transferring to FSU?

It’s generally a minimum of 6-8 weeks, but can take longer or shorter depending how your major handles things and whether they get back to the FSU admissions office quickly or not.

Thanks for your reply. But does that time frame work for transfer applicants seeking admission in the Fall? The Fall transfer application deadline is July 1, and Fall classes start August 26. A 6 - 8 week application review period leaves a June applicant little (if any) time to schedule classes and otherwise make plans to enroll.

That’s the general time frame for how long it takes for a decision to be made for any transfer student. Like I said, sometimes it’s shorter, sometimes it’s longer (I believe a few people here have posted that it can take up to 12 weeks). It all depends on how swamped the admissions office and your specific department are.

No, it doesn’t really leave someone much time, but if you are waiting until the final few days of the allotted time frame to submit your application, you should expect to wait until everyone that applied before you was given a decision.

The 6-8 week time frame isn’t exactly unusual either. I’ve seen a number of colleges list it as the general time frame for responding to transfer applicants.

Hi guys I’m kind of in the same boat here as him. I really want to get into FSU, I’m a senior in high school and I’ll have my AA in May next year. I’ve submitted part I of my application, just need to do the essay. My GPA is 3.5 (uw) and 4.3 (w) and my major is bio science (pre-med). My SAT score was 1410 for the first time I took it this summer. I’m retaking it this November. I’m going for all A’s this semester and next. This semester I’m taking:

Bio Science I/ Lab
College Algebra
Intro to Sociology
World Civ 1815-present
US History 1865-present
Spanish II (high school course)

Next semester is:
Pre-Calc
Medical terminology
Bio Science II/Lab
Economics I

Class rank as of now is 30/80. I was in my schools first inaugural class of 100 students but the senior class is just 80.

Several EC’s and Honors (I’ll be more specific if needed)

Please give me feedback on my chances!

I would first make sure that, since you’re a high school student who will simply get their AA, that you need to apply as a transfer student. I’m pretty sure you would still have to apply as a freshman/FTIC student.

I have but I spoke with an FSU rep at a college night thing and she informed me to apply as a freshman for housing and scholarship purposes. On paper I’d be a junior but apply as a freshman for benefits. Are my chances for getting into FSU good?

If your SAT score is Math + Reading + Writing, you don’t meet the freshman admission requirements, which is a 500 in all 3 sections.
