Transferring to Georgetown from UNC

I was a senior in the class of '08 applicant pool and was originally deferred/rejected from Georgetown.

I had a 3.7, 1430/2180, good rec, tons of great ECs/leadership.

I am from Chattanooga, TN and currently a freshman at UNC-Chapel Hill. I loveeeee UNC, but Georgetown has always been my dream, and I definitely want to apply to transfer, even if I ultimately decide not to.

What sorts of stats do I need to be very competitive? What GPA? I am already getting pretty involved. Does that matter?

Thanks!

Sorry I can't answer your question but I had to reply anyway! My son also wanted Georgetown, was deferred early action and then rejected during regular admission. He is also a freshman at UNC Chapel Hill. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

A solid GPA at UNC Chapel Hill is a must (I would ballpark at least 3.5)... you're SATs definitely look within range of Georgetown kids, although that becomes secondary to your GPA at UNC...
