Transferring to JMU from Out of State

so i currently attend Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. It's a four year college and i am a first semester freshman. i applied to JMU in the spring of 2011 as early decision and i got wait listed but then i got accepted. I was unable to attend so i rejected that acceptance but now i want to transfer to JMU for the fall semester of 2012. what do you all think that my chances are, especially if i rejected them before? any thoughts are greatly appreciated.. please be honest.

isnt there a way to delay/postpone the acceptance till the fall semester?

i applied last year for this years fall semester, not as a transfer just as a regular school.

My son applied to JMU as a senior in high school and got accepted but decided to go to another school. He then applied as a transfer and got accepted (again), but decided to stay where he was. He applied again as a transfer and got accepted again (3rd time!) and decided to finally go to JMU. We thought for sure they would not accept him for a 3rd time. Thankfully, the admissions folks do not hold a grudge if you decide not to go there after being accepted. Just make sure to keep your grades up and you should be able to transfer. Best of Luck!

Bmdmom, did your son apply as an incoming sophomore? And if you don’t mind me asking, what was his gpa?
