Transferring to NC State from UNCG

Hi everyone,

I want to know my chances into getting accepted to NC State as a transfer student and the process as well. I currently have 3.6 GPA and I’m taking 14 credit hours right now in the fall and I’m going to take 16 credit hours in the spring. My ACT scores were horrible, I got a 18 and for my SAT scores I got a 1370 which is horrible as well. But I did graduate high school with a weighted GPA of 4.03 and unweighted of 3.7. Please don’t be mean, time-testing is obviously not my forte.
P.S. I’m currently undecided with my major but I know I’m going for accounting for next semester or the beginning of my sophomore year.

They don’t consider SAT and ACT scores for transfer students. You don’t need to submit scores and it wouldn’t help anyway. Performance in a college classroom is by far a better indicator than some test you took when you were 17.

The average gpa for all transfer students last year was 3.31, so 3.6 is good. About 1/2 of the transfer students come from community college and about 1/4 come from other UNC schools. My guess is that UNCG would be a bit more competitive than community college so being above average from a competitive school helps. Plus that average is brought up by engineering students that need higher gpa’s to get in. I would think you are in.

For business school they want to see a calculus course. Get a wolfpaw account and go visit one of the transfer sessions to make sure you have everything you need. Get your application in before Jan 15th
