<p>I'm trying to transfer to Northeastern University in Boston. I have a 3.6 college GPA, 3.5 from high school, 29 on the ACT, 2010 on the SAT. I took tons of AP classes in high school and got 4's and 5's. I'm in my third semester (sophomore) at the University of Utah, majoring in English and mass communication, and I've taken what I thought was a semi-rigorous course load with a lot of variety--literary criticism, astronomy, graphic design, an intellectual traditions class. I've taken two math classes: 1010 (college algebra) and 1030 (statistics) but I've noticed that Northeastern wants to see calculus on your college transcript. I took Honors Calculus in high school, but my university doesn't require anything higher than stats if you're in the humanities.</p>
<p>Has anyone else had this problem? Should I try to take a stats class over the summer (I'm taking next semester off to do an internship sponsored through my university, won't have time for classes, maybe could do it online) just to get that experience, or am I out of luck?</p>
