Transferring to Notre Dame

Hey, all!

I am currently a freshman at Holy Cross College, and I am extremely interested in transferring to Notre Dame.

Because of severe illness and multiple traumatic family events, I did very poorly my junior and senior years, the most crucial time in high school. My ending GPA was a 3.1 and my SAT was 1500. However, I had multiple ECs: retreat leader/speaker, campus ministry leader, Latin club, German club, film club, prayer blanket ministry, a part time job, and volunteer work.

Now, at HC, I have a 4.00. I am retaking the SAT to hopefully bump my score up to 2100. I am the head volunteer at a branch of St. Vincent de Paul and the Catholic Worker Movement. I am also in campus ministry and psychology club, and still working part time. I know that this year I will continue to balance my academics as I do not plan on having any trauma or illness to set me back. I have also developed good relationships with professors (who are also closely affiliated with ND) who would write me recommendation letters.

What are my chances of being accepted as a transfer student for the Fall 2016 term?

Please help.

You started freshman classes a week ago at HC. How do you claim that you have a 4.0 GPA?

The Holy Cross College in Indiana (http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/holy-cross-college-7263) is not a selective college and so it will require several years of a 4.0 there to demonstrate you have the chops to be successful at Notre Dame.
