Transferring to Nursing Schools

Hello!
I’m going to be graduating high school and going to a community college in the fall. I have a few doubts and concerns about transferring into nursing schools.

Right now my only plan is to finish all pre requisites for the only two UC schools with bachelors programs for nursing ( UCLA and UCI). The problem is that I don’t feel like applying to two schools is enough, because what if I don’t get in to any of them? The fact that I can take a minimum of 3 years in cc just to finish the pre-reqs for both (if everything is done right and in a timely manner) is enough to bring down my confidence level by a ton, but I am willing to work hard in order to be able to transfer successfully.

The question is should I apply to more schools and take more time in CC to finish the extra pre reqs? The requirements for out of state schools are mostly the same except some require a nutrition course, etc. Are there any schools that you would recommend to me?

I don’t want to stay in CC too long as that might not look good when applying for schools. :expressionless:

Any other advice about transferring or nursing school is great too thanks!

You could go straight into the RN/ASN program at the community college than do a BSN bridge at a 4 year college. Than later on you can use your BSN and take a MSN bridge later on if you so desire.
