Transferring to NYU??

I currently attend a CC in Florida.

I'm in the honors program, have a 3.7 GPA.
I'm editor-in-chief of the newspaper, president of the journalism club, a member of Phi Theta Kappa and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I'm a Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteer, work part time, have a blogging internship, and was recently nominated for who's who among students in college and universities. I'm in the club for my honors program, where I was on the board of directors for a semester, as well as two committees. I recently received an award for leadership, and was just accepted to intern at the Republican National Convention in August.

I have two great recommendations, and the director of my honors program knows the admissions directors at NYU. My essay is solid, etc. My SAT scores are low, but those aren't required. I had a 2.1 in HS, but they don't weigh that as heavily if you already have an AA, which I will.

Pretty sure NYU requires a SAT score.

^NYU does require standardized testing for transfers, but is very liberal in what they will accept:

[Standardized Tests](<a href=“How to Apply”>How to Apply)

Hopefully the OP is planning to submit one of the other options.

NYUgirl, I don’t see a question in your post, but if you’re asking for Chances, your best bet is to look at the current Official NYU thread and past Results threads (links are in the Resources sticky thread).

NYU doesn’t require SAT scores if you’re transferring in as a junior.

Sorry, I saw that NYU referred transfers to the main Standardized Testing webpage and I jumped directly to the options and missed the first part of the page:

So, soph transfers could be exempt from standardized testing as well if they have completed a full year of full time coursework.

Your high school GPA is still very problematic…it will stick with you wherever you go. 2.1 GPA unweighted is about a C+?
