Transferring to Penn (Help)

Hi all. I recently posted a thread on the college chances section, and to my dissapointment, it was of no avail. I am currently a sudent at a community college and I am looking to transfer to Penn. I am an international business major who seeks to double-major in economics. Wharton school of business is top, so before I list my credentials, I ask is this the appropriate thread to see my chances? I also have a few questions regarding the transfer process. Let me know if you "fellow Penn colleagues" can be of assistance to me :-) Thank you.

Why don’t you just list your credentials if you want to be evauated?

Anyway, here’s all the info you need [Transfer Admission - Penn Admissions](Prepare For Transfer Admission | Penn Admissions)

If you want to do business, wharton is the way to go. However, if you also want to major in econ, you would have to do a dual degree between the college, where the econ department is housed, and wharton. This means you’d need to fulfill the general requirements for both wharton and the college, which could require a lot of credits, especially for a transfer student. Considering you’d be coming from a CC, I don’t know how many of your credits Penn would accept, as they’re pretty stingy in terms of awarding transfer credits as well. I transferred in this year (into the college, not wharton), so I could answer questions you may have.

Have you met the curricular requirements for a Wharton transfer? [Wharton School | Transfer - Penn Admissions](Curricular Requirements | Penn Admissions)

Where else are you planning to apply? Even if you have a 4.0, you should not count on getting into Wharton, especially if you are planning to enter as a junior.

Thank you all for replying. The transfer admissions page was especially helpful. I currently have 38 credits completed (by tomorrow) and a GPA of 3.9. Since I am an international business student at a community college, certain classes aren’t required to obtain an associates degree. Managerial accounting is one of them. I did take accounting 101, and 102 however. I am an eagle scout, president of the college business club, and an active member in Phi Theta Kappa, the college honors society. I’m not too worried at what credits they’ll accept or not. I’m more concerned about getting admitted. I live in the tri-state, so I’ll also apply to Columbia, although they don’t have an undergraduate business program, Rutgers (safety school), Vanderbilt, maybe some on the West Coast (UC Berkely, LA, etc.) I will apply to at least 15. Should I complete the credits to get my associates, or just apply for next fall 2013 with what I will have done by this spring? What do they really look for in transfer students (extra cirriculars, etc)? Do I have a decent chance? I plan on attending a transfer session in January. Thank you all for your help.

Hey guys, Hope all you Penn students and future perspectives are doing okay. I haven’t been on here for a while. If you need more info about myself to help you answer my question(s), please inform me or reply. This is a bump. Thank you!

hey guys, for my transfer class, all the Wharton transfers were sophomore. i encourage y’all, if you really want to go to Wharton, apply to the College instead, and then try doing some dual-degree
