I'm a freshman at Duquesne University interested in transferring to Pitt's School of Art's and Sciences for the fall 2011 semester. I have been looking at their transfer admissions site and the transfer guidelines. I saw that competitive applicants usually have 48 to 60 credits and a GPA of 3.0 or higher, but that students with fewer credits can still make it in. By the end of the year I will probably have 36 credits. If I were to have a high GPA and only 36 credits do you think that I could still be competitive among applicants? Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks!(:

Honestly, I think you need to contact Pitt to have that question answered.

I agree that contacting Pitt is the best way to get your question answered, but my guess (i could be wrong) is that with only 36 credits, they may look at your high school GPA/SAT scores to help influence their decision. Of course, Pitt generally has higher standards and a lower acceptance rate than Duquesne (which surprised me the first time I found that out).
