Transferring to San Jose state or community

Hello, I am a second year at UCSD but I really dont like it here. It was a huge mistake to come here so now I am trying to transfer out. Last November I applied to San Jose State but I have not yet heard from them till next month to know if I got accepted. I am coming up with a plan C in case I don’t get accepted into San Jose although I think I have good chances since I have a 3.0 and is transferring to a major that is not impacted. But anyways my other plan is to withdraw from this UC and go finish my undergrad in a community college.

My questions are:
What is going to happen to my financial aid? would they take it as dropping out from the UC? will i have to pay back my grants? Do they accept a transfer from UC to CSU or community college? I have already updated my fafsa to add SJS and the community college.

My other plan if not accepted to go to the Navy so I dont know what to do there because it is not a transfer.
I really want to get out of here but i have these burning questions that i cant seem to find the answer to. My main worry is if i would have to pay back all the money if i withdraw and go to a community college.
Thank you for your time in answering these questions.

  1. What kind of financial aid are your receiving? Cal Grant/Pell Grant, Stafford student loans, work study?
  2. You do realize that you cannot finish an undergrad (Bachelor’s degree) at a community college, only an AA?
  3. Yes you can transfer from a UC to a CSU or community college, but CSU’s only accept Junior level transfers (60 semester/90 quarter units) so you meet this criteria?
  4. Grants do not need to be paid back.

I am receiving a cal/ pel grant as well as an unsubsidized loan
Can i still just complete an AA and be okay? will that be acceptable too to the financial aid?
After i finish this year i will be having 90 quarter units.
