Transferring to South Carolina, Chance Me!

Looking at my high school record, it's not good at all. I did horrible, and I mean horrible, as a freshman and sophomore. I just didn't put the effort in to studying and I saw no point. I grew up my junior year and my grades were significantly better during my final two years of high school. I even took two AP classes and earned credit for one of them. Because of the damage done the first two years, I graduated with a 2.0 GPA. I also only took 2 years of math (algebra 1, one semester of geometry and college algebra).

I was accepted at a small christian university in Indiana and finished my first semester with 13 credit hours and a 2.59 GPA. Second semester I took 16 hours and concluded with a 3.64 GPA (Dean's List). My cumulative now is at 3.1 with 30 total hours.

I want to transfer now to the university of South Carolina. They say their minimum transfer GPA is 2.25 but for my major it's 2.75. I'm above that with my 3.1 and as you can see, my second semester is looking a lot better than the first one.

Do you think I have any chance of getting accepted? I had a 22 ACT (my math dragged me down), I have letters of recommendation from five different professors and I wrote a letter explaining my situation and how I've turned around (providing evidence for such).

USC says that if you have 30 hours you are not required to meet freshman admission criteria -- but they still look at your high school transcripts.

Do I have a chance?
