I heard that Stanford's yield rate for the Class of 2017 higher than ever before (~76.7%). I know that the school's transfer acceptance rate was already very low (I think it was about 1.9% last year), but with such a high yield rate, should I even bother applying as a transfer? Doesn't this mean there will be an even smaller amount of spots for transfer students? Thanks in advance.

Are you planning on transferring for the fall? If so, I imagine the deadline must have passed quite a while ago.

I would say apply (because if you don’t, you have a 0% chance of getting in), but given the low transfer acceptance rate don’t expect much.

Yield rate doesn’t really matter, S is still going to fill all of their fr seats every year. The variability in the transfer rate depends upon:

The numerator: the number of seats vacated by students not returning for the following fall.

The denominator: the number of students applying as transfers.
