Transferring to Stanford without Calculus

I’m applying to transfer to Stanford in the Fall 2018 quarter. However, I have been unable to take Calculus at my CC. Will this hurt my application? I’ve tried emailing them, but they never give me a clear answer.

Thanks in advance!

Recognize you have little chance to start. There are two questions here. Is it required and will it hurt you. Even if if isn’t required, I will make you less competitive. What are your stats, including HS if you don’t have more than a year of college.

4.0 GPA, 1500+ SAT scores, CC is out of state (FL). Calculus is not required, and I realize that my chances are slim, regardless. However, will lack of Calculus hurt my application? If so, do you think they would care if I took it in the Spring when I apply?

I did not take Calculus prior to applying for transfer, and I was accepted.

FWIW though, I put HumBio as my anticipated major, which does not explicitly require calculus. I am refreshing myself on precalc and trig from high school so I can take calc my first quarter at Stanford, and I put a note in my app that I was doing so.

With CS, that I assume you are interested in based on your username, 26 math units are required, including MATH 19, 20, and 21, which is basically Calc 1, 2, and 3… Without having any of those completed prior to your start of term, I would have to imagine it would put you pretty well behind your classmates.
