Transferring to Stony Brook Spring 2017

Hi All,

I have a high school GPA of 3.86 (roughly) and a 1910 composite score for the SAT (590 on math, 660 on CR, 680 on writing). I applied to Stony Brook with under 24 credits, so I have to send them my high school credentials. I’m in the Hicks Honors College at University of North Florida and have around a 3.7 GPA there. I’m currently doing extracurriculars such as musical theater and biology club. I did track and field, National Honors Society, volunteering, broadcasting club, made commercials, did tech stuff for musicals, and performed concerts with my band through another club in high school. What are my chances of getting in?

Thank you!
-Scott

Never mind, I got in!

Hi Scott,

Congrats! I just wanted to let you know that Stony Brook is my top choice for transfer of Fall 2016 (essentially my only choice), and I looked around for tons of threads to see if anyone got in with under 24 credits, and it looked exceedingly grim. Your thread, and your simple reply to yourself, saved me from a night of worrisome mayhem. Thank you greatly.
