Transferring to SU

I'm trying to transfer for the fall of 2012. Does it help that I got accepted for fall 2011 but couldn't go?

I’m going to bump this one up…

It shouldn’t hurt. Transferring is usually easier. What college are you applying to? What are your grades? Why couldn’t you attend?

I’m most likely going to apply for arts and sciences. And I am a freshmen at another college so I don’t really know them yet. All I know is that I’m passing all of them and I plan on passing all of them next semester too. I couldn’t attend because my parents didn’t want me to.

You clearly showed you were SU material once, and you just need to do it again.

But unless you are at a pass/fail college now, “passing” your classes has a wide range of possibilities. I would focus on doing your absolute best on your final papers and tests this semester at your current school. (That will help you not just for Syracuse but any other school you may be applying to.)

Don’t feel overconfident and slack off just because you were accepted before, but I certainly think it can’t hurt. You just need to show that you are as dedicated a student (or more so) as you were when they accepted you the first time.

Best of luck!

(Also, if your parents were not supportive before, are you going to have problems with them helping with payment this time – if you in fact need their financial help? Just a consideration.) Make sure to fill out any financial aid forms on time, if applicable to your situation.

Thank you for all the information you provided. I am working hard at my current school and hopefully I get the opportunity to go to my dream school.
