Transferring to the University of Richmond

Hello,

I was accepted as transfer student for the fall of 2014. I was wondering if someone could give me some feedback as to how the process has been for some.
In general, it would be great if I could get some feedback on campus life and the surrounding area.
I have not had the chance to visit, is it a very isolated campus? Is there a huge party scene?

Thank you!!

My DD’s roommate this year was a transfer and seemed to settle in very well. UR has a very nice orientation program for transfer students.

The Campus is in suburban Richmond and is very pretty with a large pond in the middle, lots of brick and attractive architecture. Carytown is a nearby revitalized “mainstreet” area with lots of great shops and restaurants - we always enjoy spending time there when visiting. Downtown Richmond is easily accessible - 15 minutes away - lots of things to do in the area.

Party scene seems to revolve around greek parties and on-campus apartments. DD is not a big partier but has plenty of friends and is very happy there. She is doing great academically and really likes her professors. Has been able to do research since freshman year with paid summer internships too.
