So I have 2.7 GPA and 24 on the ACT. I don't think I am stupid, but some colleges would think that. I want to know how to explain that being homeless, depressed, and bullied played factors in poor academic record without making it sound like I am making excuses.

I don't even know if being gay and black will even help me at all...

Major- Biology/3-2 Engineering

i would go for 3 fantastic LORS if you can…also you must be taking the highest level classes you can. not intro to sociology, but more like 300-400 level

Transfer has an entering junior, not sophomore. That way they’ll weigh college more heavily than HS. Transferring in next year will strongly lower your shot of acceptance since they’ll only have 1 semester of college grades on you when they review your application.

Other than that, there’s not much advice to give right now as per your “chances”. Since you’ll be transferring in 2 years your academic profile is incomplete. Talk to your transfer advisor on recommended classes to take.
