I am currently a Biomedical engineering major at Marquette University, and I want to transfer for spring of 2013 to U of I's computer engineering program ( I know you can't transfer into their bioengineering). I have all the general eds that they require to transfer completed.

My question is, for Fall 2012 I am scheduled to take all my sophomore level biomedical engineering courses at MU, and I really don't have room to take an intro level computer engineering course. And if I don't get into U of I (which i probably won't, they declined me as an incoming freshman) I would like to continue biomedical engineering at MU, so I don't want to waste credits on a computer eng course. Will that hurt my chances of getting in? I know their computer engineering is top notch. Would I be better of applying to their general engineering and seeing if i can inter school trasnfer to computer in the future? Or should I just bury any hopes of transferring to U of I engineering?

I have a 3.6 cumulative gpa currently, and tons of clubs and tutoring/volunteering.
Had a 3.6 in high school as well.
