Transferring to U of I EE from Loyola U Chicago Bio (Pre-med)

Hello all,
I am a sophomore Loyola University Chicago Bio Pre-Med major student. I transferred here from Illinois State University. My reason for going to Illinois State University was two fold: I did not have to pay tuition and I loved the school. I was in the Engineering physics program there (dual degree, transfer to engineering school after three years with a physics degree) and left with around a 3.5. I came to Loyola with the hopes of going to either dental or medical school, my mother also went here and it's a good school so I said "why not?" After a semester here I hate it and I have changed my mind on the biology route, it is not for me. At the end of the semester I will have a 3.0+, no higher than a 3.3. I have taken the pre-requisites required to transfer to UIUC, but I am not confident in my chances. Here at Loyola I am the treasurer of a student organization, I work for the admissions office, and I am in a mentoring program; I am also a member of NSBE. I would like some advice on my chances of admission and anything that may help. The sciences here are pretty much on par with UIUC from what I have heard as far as prestige goes, though I could be wrong. Any insight or suggestions would be helpful, thanks.

I don’t think Loyola is on par with UIUC in the sciences. That said, the GPA requirements are written with community college students in mind because they are the majority of transfers.

EE is competitive right now, but I still think you have a good chance. I would apply.
