Transferring to U.Va.

Hey everyone -

I'm a recently graduated high school senior, beginning my first year of college this fall (2008) at a college in Miami, with the intention of transferring to U.Va. as soon as possible. I've read on their website they prefer applicants who have TWO years of college coursework completed, and this really discourages me because I simply do not want to wait that long to make the transition.

For any U.Va. students, what should I do to absolutely dazzle admissions officers, and make myself the most competitive applicant possible?

For any students who have already made the transition into U.Va., any advice? did you adjust well? make friends easily?

For anyone, should I just wait the two years?

I know, if I work extremely hard in this honors program I am beginning now in fall, and I complete the two years, I know I can get in. I'm almost positive of it. I just rather not wait that length of time.

U.Va. has been my first choice in college for a while now, and when I didn't get in for first-year, I decided I wouldn't let that stop me, and that is why I am embarking in this mission to transfer. As much as I want to do it only after one year, the fact that I didn't get in based solely on my high school records discourages me, because they will still probably be heavily considered if I apply for second year; whereas, if I apply for third year, they will probably not be considered as much.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO TRANSFER TO UVA AFTER ONE YEAR?

Thanks in advance.
