I am a freshman at a community college. I have plans to transfer to a UC after 2 years to get a BS in Neurobiology. I can sign a transfer agreement with most UC's, and I know the requirements for those, so I'm not too worried.

However, I would love to go to UC Berkeley or UCLA. It would be a dream. Of course, if things don't work out with these schools, I'll go to the school where I signed a transfer agreement.

So say, for UC Berkeley and UCLA, what should my GPA range be, as a junior transfer (this will be happening in 2 years). Do I necessarily need a 4.0? I'm aiming for 3.7 or above. That way I can still have some room for error (I'd go insane trying to get all A's) but still have a high GPA.

A little background: I did awful in high school. I'm embarrassed to even mention my gpa from there. And that disappointment is just motivating me to do really good in CC. I've had a part time job for a year, and it'll probably be 3 years by the time I transfer. I play tennis, maybe will be on the team. And I'm a member of several clubs. So...I guess I'm somewhat outgoing?

One last note: Will my GPA from the CC transfer over to a UC?
