<p>Is it possible? I slacked off way too much in high school and as a result my grades were not up to par for Berkeley, so I'm going to SJSU in the fall. Berkeley is my dream school, and I'd really like to eventually transfer there after a couple of years, so I'm going to try my hardest to get good grades so I can have at least a shot at transferring. What kind of grades will I need to get, and is there anything else that can help? Engineering major btw...</p>

<p>For Engineering it is EXTREMELY difficult to transfer from a csu to Cal. Most of your classes WONT articulate. I really really really suggest going to community college route. It expedites the entire process.</p>

<p>To be honest, it is definitely not worth risking this. I also recommend against going to a college with your heart set on a different and much more prestigious college. It may be difficult to enjoy your time. If you have your heart set on UCB then the best way to get there is to go to CCC. You must be able to get a refund on your housing and registration (minus any nonrefundable deposits.) In the long run CCC will be much, much cheaper.</p>
<p>I was in the same situation in high school. My dream school was Cal but I had only gotten in UC Davis. I sucked up my pride (or whatever) and went to a CCC and have saved soo much $$$ AND gotten into my dream school!</p>
<p>I don’t think going to SJSU for undergrad is a good idea IF you INTEND on transferring anyway. Go to CCC if you want to up your chances!</p>

<p>Please, OP, skip the SJSU option and go to CCC. You will have a MUCH MUCH better chance of getting into Cal. If that is what you genuinely want, then just go to a CCC for 2 years if at all possible.</p>
