Currently I am attending UIUC (University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign) for Nuclear Engineering and I hate it. I’m trying to transfer to UCF for Mechanical Engineering for I have a couple of doubts/questions. First off, I actually live in Florida but attended this school as an out-of-state. As a transfer to UCF, I’d be an in-state student… would that affect my chances? Also, while in high school I took a bunch of APs which summed up to 43 credits for UIUC. Would these contribute to my AA or 60 college credits I need (as I hear it’s way easier to get accepted with the 60 credits)? If not, I took 9 credits dual-enrollment at a community college back home along with 46 credits at UIUC and I’m currently taking 13 this semester. I had decent SAT scores in high school (1900s) and graduated with a 3.5 gpa but I’m sure UCF doesn’t really care about these… By far, my main concern is my gpa, though. Right now, I have a 3.10 gpa… I know it’s a huge step down in terms of school, but I rather be in a program I actually am interested in. What do you guys think are my chances? Thanks in advance.
