Is it possible? There are so many classes that need to be taken. For reference, I have five CSE classes from UCSD under my belt:
Intr/Computer Sci&Obj-Ori:Java (Accelerated Java learning basically)
Intro/Discrete Mathematics (Discrete Math)
Basic Data Struct & OO Design (Data structures in Java, C, C++)
Software Tools&Techniques Lab (scripting stuff, test oriented design, etc.)
Math/Algorithm&Systems Analys (Discrete Math 2: Electric Boogaloo)
I only ask because UCSD and UCI don’t have a UCSD -> UCI class conversion chart published, and I would quite like to get out in 2 years but it doesn’t seem possible. I’m now at community college and there aren’t any classes here that would count for anything at Irvine that my UCSD course credit couldn’t count for.
@Fottle The classes do not directly translate to one another as you mentioned, but I would consider asking an academic adviser at the Donald Bren School of ICS at UCI.
A possibility would be
Intr/Computer Sci&Obj-Ori:Java (Accelerated Java learning basically) ~ ICS 21 (the first class in the 3 part series for intro to obj oriented programming)
Intro/Discrete Mathematics (Discrete Math) - ICS/Math 6B or C - one of these is called discrete math I believe
Basic Data Struct & OO Design (Data structures in Java, C, C++) - ICS 22 - the next part in the series
Software Tools&Techniques Lab (scripting stuff, test oriented design, etc.) - INF/ICS 100 something, there is a class that is basically the same name at UCI
Math/Algorithm&Systems Analys (Discrete Math 2: Electric Boogaloo) - Boogaloo? IDK - ICS/Math 6A is Boolean algebra I think
this is just going off what I remember from being an ICS student, they may have changed the names of the courses in the catalog
