Hello everyone.

I've enrolled in 3 community colleges in order to accumulate more credits to transfer over to UCLA -hopefully I can do that within one year. My major is Pre-health and I was wondering if it's possible? To transfer after one year with enough Pre-health credits? Has anyone ever been able to "beast" their classes and transfer after one year?

Much appreciated !

Its possible but certainly takes a lot of time and dedication…and no, it would not be easy. lol. You could always stop in at the 1 year transfer board here on CC and read about their success stories. The majority of the people on that thread were admit to either Cal, UCLA or both.

The problem with this approach is that you won’t even have any grades at the time you apply. You apply in the Fall (apps due 11/30), and at that time you are still in your first semester at community college and don’t have any grades yet. Even though you can update your Fall grades before decisions are made, you’ll only have 1 semester and the people making the decisions may feel that they don’t have enough information about you yet.

@alicantekid When I applied I only had 8 units, 3 from an Art class and 5 from Calculus, and some from my AP exams. I still got in to Cal and UCLA nonetheless.

@JigglyJello What is the Pre-health major? I don’t see it on [ASSIST[/url]. I’m asking because if you want to transfer in one year, well if you want to transfer in general really, you have to complete all of your prereqs. If there’s a bunch of prereqs that you have to do, like for the engineering major for example, then transferring in one year is very unlikely (though possible).
Do you have any AP credit? You can use those too to maybe cover some prereqs or to meet the 60 units requirement.
And yes, beasting in your classes as a one-year transfer is possible. Took 21 units this semester and I got straight As. In the end, transferring in one year is possible, you just have to do a lot of planning and have determination to complete 18-21 (or more) units each semester/quarter.
Here is the thread kingdom was talking about, you should check it out: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/1342094-want-transfer-one-year-get-some-advice-here.html](<a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST)

I’m doing it from Spring to Spring, with straight A’s so far. Lit major, UCLA transfer hopeful. Here’s what it looks like if interested…

Spring - 15
Summer - 9
Fall -15
Winter - 10
Spring - 13

All IGETC and major prereqs completed by Spring.
