I was thinking of applying to Cal Baptist University to take 2018 summer classes. They accept transfers from Community colleges regardless of credits and I’m pretty sure I can get in. The problem is how would UCLA/CAL react with me taking 2018 summer classes at a university while having the rest of my transcript being at a cc?
the only concern you should have is whether the units are transferable. At a CC you can look on ASSIST to make sure. At any other school the final determination will be made by UC after the fact, you can’t know for sure in advance.
As for whether transferable units from Cal Baptist would be looked down upon or something, I can’t imagine any reason why that would be true.
I’m not clear if you already applied to the UC for fall 2018 and just want to take these before transfer to hedge your bets in case you don’t get in, or if you are applying in Nov 2018.
The UCs allow units from anywhere, assuming they are transferable. Just keep in mind to get priority consideration as a CCC transfer your last full term can only be at a CCC (fall, winter, spring or variation). So if you still have a year to go I would advise not taking any courses from Cal Baptist after summer.
If you already applied to a UC for this fall and are taking these courses after acceptance, be sure to get approval from your UC first.
This question seems to be a variant on the one the OP asked before
