Transferring to UF without an AA but more than 60 hours?

I know the chances are probably slim, but I'm basically curious if it can be done. I'm currently a sophomore at Valencia CC in Orlando looking to get into Civil Engineering. I've got a 3.81 overall GPA, and I plan on transferring to Santa Fe in Spring or Summer 2011 to hopefully better my chances of getting into UF. I know UF encourages transfer applicants to have completed their AA, but I will more than likely have 9 hours of pre-reqs left to complete in the Fall of 2011 which is when I would like to enroll. I'm assuming I would have to apply towards a CLAS major then apply to college of engineering once accepted.

So my questions are has it been done or can it be done? If so, what are the chances?
Any other ways around this?

Other info: I'll have 71 credit hours if everything goes as planned entering fall 2011. My EC's have also been slacking since i've started college, but only because I work 30+ hours a week.

Your gpa is strong, but I’m afraid without the AA it will be close to impossible to be accepted for the term you desire. I think spring 2012 would be more of an appropriate time. If you do go to santa fe next spring, I’d say give it a try and apply before the fall deadline, which I believe is march 1st, and see what they say. They cater very highly to cc students. UCF is great for engineering I thought. Why not transfer there?

I was afraid of that, but I’ll probably give it a shot anyways. I know UCF is great, but its been a dream to go to UF, and I may want to minor in agriculture. I’ve also lived really close to UCF my entire life too so I’m sort of in need of a change of scenery.

I’m not sure if it makes a difference, but the actual prereqs i’d be lacking would be VERY specific engineering courses (Statics, Dynamics, Statistics for Eng) so I would have all my Chem, Physics and Calc (and DE) finished with by summer 2011.
