Transferring to UGA...what does that mean for my GPA?

vblick: Actually, UGA treats both joint enrollment and transfer work as the same (except for the payment by HOPE, but that is a different area). There are a number of GPA’s at UGA, from your UGA GPA, overall GPA, transfer GPA, HOPE GPA and major GPA. All work, regardless if it is JE, transfer or UGA, will go onto your overall GPA (thus the word overall). UGA requires transcripts from every college attended, and then posts what transfers and calculates a GPA on all work that would be transferable (even F grades that do not then transfer). While your UGA GPA starts when you attend, your overall GPA is based on all work. Get a copy of your transcript to see the variety of GPA’s on it (at least overall and UGA will be on it, and maybe transfer GPA).
