<p>Hello,
Next fall, I am planning to transfer to UIC (University of Illinois at Chicago).
My current major is biology, however, I am planning to change to accounting.
Currently, I am supposed to be a junior in college.
My freshman year, I attended Marquette University. Due to tuition problems, I had to transfer to a community college. After attending a community college for a year, I applied to UIC as a biology major. Unfortunately, I did not get in for whatever reasons. According to the admissions office, they did not accept anyone with a GPA of 3.0 or lower. My GPA at Marquette was around 2.80. However, my GPA at my community was 3.6 for both semesters. Since I did not get into UIC this fall, I decided to take extra classes at my community college to prepare myself for the accounting major.
My question is what must I do to be accepted into UIC as an accounting major? I cannot take a lot of classes since I'm pretty much done with my gen eds and I need to finish the last 60 credit hours at UIC. Currently, I have about 55 credit hours.
Also, last year, I was invited to join Phi Thata Keppa. If I join this club/organization, will it increase the chances of me getting into UIC?
Thank you for your time!
