My name's Joe and I'm currently a freshman at Rider University in NJ. I really wanted to transfer to University of Maryland for fall 11', and i am determined to do good this semester to help my chances. What gpa do you think it will take for me to get in? I know it's harder to get in if i'm out of state but i know it's still possible. Im also curious to know if my brother being a grad student there can help my chances at all. I'm so worried that it is going to take near perfect grades to get in, and i want to get accepted to UMD more than anything in the world. -ENV Science major. What will it take?

Yo, I’m applying for spring 2011 as a transfer. I was previously accepted for fall 2010, but chose not to attend (I really wish that I had accepted). If you have completed 30 credits UMD will disregard your HS transcript and only consider your college grades. So basically write a great essay, get as close to a 4.0 as possible, and get involved on campus!
