Transferring to UMich chances?

Hi guys, So I am currently attended the other B1G school in the state of Michigan… I am debating on whether or not I should wait and apply to LSA for the winter 2020 semester or try for the fall. I’m going to include my stats, any advice really does help!

weighted- 3.9; SAT- 1170

Credits: 8 as of now from the APs, at semester will be 19. Will have 33 by the end of the year. Possibly 40 at the time of acceptance due enrolling in summer courses.

Extra Circulars:

Before answering this please look at what AP actually transfers to Michigan as well as what credits transfers. Michigan is very tough on this front especially math and science. This should help :

Yup! I have kept an eye on it. I took AP Psych and got a 4, so that’s 4 credits and my AP Gov. score of a 3 gets me 4 credits as well

Talk with admissions and send them your transcript. You seem like a good fit. You seem to be doing well so why the transfer?

I just don’t like the campus as much, I love Michigan’s campus, I also like the challenge and competitive rigor that Michigan has. Michigan State’s student body for the most part really lacks a lot of determination and drive when it comes to grades and wanting to excel and be better than average. I just don’t fit in academically with a lot of students i’ve met so far.

There is something called transfer Tuesdays on the bottom of the link sent. Don’t know when the next one is but think it’s once a month on campus. Also you might want to ask about waiting till fall. I think if you come in as a junior they don’t look at high school grades /scores.

The admission people have been really great when we needed them. They are there to help you make the right decision for you.

Yeah I plan to try to attend one to see which is my best bet! I’ve been talking to an admissions counselor since the beginning of this semester with my questions. I just wanted others opinions about this since people might have a better outlook based on their experiences with trying to transfer.
